Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed Gypsum Inc., yesterday received the 2023 Better Project Award from the U.S. Department of Energy for the company’s smart energy management system at its Buchanan, New York gypsum facility.   

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Project awards recognize manufacturers who improve energy efficiency and competitiveness in the industrial sector. To be considered for an award, projects must deliver significant waste or energy savings and must be discreet, innovative, and replicable in similar industrial facilities.

Saint-Gobain North America announced today that it has been named a finalist in three 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards categories from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). The company’s CertainTeed Roofing plant in Shakopee, Minnesota was recognized for its achievements in sustainability and circular economy, while its Saint-Gobain Life Sciences’ facility in Akron, Ohio was honored for its work to create a transformational culture. In addition, one of the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety professionals, Emily Ambrose, has been recognized in the category of Next-Generation Leadership.   

Saint-Gobain North America, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed Roofing, has acquired the rights to technology from recycling partner Asphaltica that will allow the company to recycle asphalt shingle waste, diverting it from landfill and furthering the company’s commitment to creating a circular economy in its production of roofing shingles.

Saint-Gobain today announced that it has been awarded Global Top Employer certification by the Top Employers Institute for 2023, the eighth consecutive year the company has been awarded this prestigious honor.

Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, today announced that the company intends to build a new, state-of-the art manufacturing facility and distribution center in Bryan, Texas, reaffirming its commitment to provide sustainable, quality products to its customers in the southern United States.

Saint-Gobain North America, through its automotive glass subsidiary Saint-Gobain Sekurit and its building products subsidiary CertainTeed Insulation, has begun a recycling program at two locations in California, where windshield glass scraps are recycled and reused in the production of insulation. 

Saint-Gobain North America today announced the winning schools of its 2022 Sustaining Futures, Raising Communities charitable giveaway contest, where schools across Georgia, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania competed to receive $250,000 in donated building materials solutions and program materials to transform educational spaces in their schools.

Saint-Gobain and the Worcester Business Development Corporation (WBDC) are pleased to announce its partnership has resulted in Saint-Gobain transferring approximately 51 acres of underutilized land for redevelopment by the WBDC.
