Northborough, Mass – Saint-Gobain today announced the rebranding of five Research and Development sites, previously known as Saint-Gobain Research, to regional Innovation Hubs, with a renewed customer focus and emphasis on collaboration within and across business lines. The Saint-Gobain Northborough campus, which celebrated its fortieth anniversary last year, was named the new “Innovation Hub North America” for Saint-Gobain, making it a central location for research and development in North America. The site supports additional areas of innovation in digital, sustainable, and building science solutions that will contribute globally.
Beyond the new branding, the Northborough campus is in the midst of a massive transformation that will see much of the 26-acre site, including the lab spaces, completely renovated and upgraded. This project will ensure the research teams are able to collaborate and innovate in a state-of-the-art, open floor plan facility that puts customer solutions at the center of their work.
“The transformation of our campus and laboratories in Northborough will enable us to remain the leader in light and sustainable construction and solve the challenges facing our customers and the industry through unmatched collaboration and research capabilities,” said Todd DiNoia, VP, Innovation and R&D, Saint-Gobain. “This investment in our facility and consolidation into a global hub will further cement the region as a leader in innovation and home to world-class talent, including our incredible teams at the Saint-Gobain Innovation Hub North America.”
The construction project, which kicked off in 2025, is focused on modernizing the campus and has been designed to build a stronger and more impactful innovation ecosystem. The site will maximize collaboration, while offering new opportunities for customization for strategic customers. This aligns with Saint-Gobain's five-year “Lead and Grow” strategy, which takes a systems-based approach to offer full, integrated solutions.
Once the construction is complete, the site will host more than 400 permanent Saint-Gobain employees.
