WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Night Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for all production activities for assigned manufacturing production lines at our CertainTeed Roofing plant in Peachtree City, GA.

The incumbent will manage, monitor and direct the activities of assigned production line crews to efficiently produce quality products.

Production Supervisors must be comfortable with physical aspects of the plant's environment; i.e., working with various byproducts of raw materials used in the operation, and covering full length of line operations numerous times throughout a shift. The incumbent must be dedicated to providing leadership and direction for activities of assigned crews. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining workplace organization and ensuring good housekeeping practices.
  • Leading by following all plant rules and legislative regulations.
  • Effectively training and developing employees to competently perform job tasks.
  • Monitoring production processes and product quality under the direction of the Department Superintendent.
  • Directly supervising production individuals on their assigned shift.
  • Effectively communicating with all employees.
  • Completing all other tasks and projects as assigned, such as serving on Six Sigma teams and procedure writing.

WORK SCHEDULE: This Night Shift Production Supervisor works from 7PM to 7AM on the 2-2-3 schedule which includes some weekend work.

Qualifications

  • An associate’s degree is preferred or equivalent supervisory experience that provides a working knowledge of practices, procedures, operations, and regulations governing a manufacturing facility.
  • Must understand the manufacturing production operation and its practices and procedures.
  • Must understand machine operations and be fully committed to accomplishing tasks in a safe manner.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills as well as a high level of human relations skills to develop and motivate subordinates.
  • Must demonstrate core competencies of engagement in safe work behaviors, effective communications, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma.
