The Role
The Production Lead is responsible for providing support to the shift supervisor and production team members. This role focuses on directing other personnel in maintaining and operating equipment to optimize the production process. They must maintain high morale, a positive attitude, effective communication, interpersonal skills and employee development through involvement.
This role directly reports to the On-Shift Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads production activities to ensure that products meet or exceed all established quality requirements which may include participating in or conducting shift hand-off meetings
- Assist in receiving and offloading raw material trucks
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem solving
- Arranges for the support of other activities, i.e., Maintenance, Engineering
- Oversee team members to ensure they are maintaining thoroughly cleaned area (5S) in and around each applicable machine
- Responsible for performing SMAT observations and submitting of required concerned reports
- Leading team members with LOTO, Confined Space, and other safety related activities
- Coordinate activities on scheduled/unscheduled down days with other department personnel
- Lead cross training in areas
- Fill in for supervisor when absent
- Backfill for positions during absences or break
- Assist supervisors with administrative tasks: Factory+ support
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- 2+ Industrial Manufacturing experience is required or 4+ Industrial Manufacturing experience is preferred
- 1+ year leadership experience is preferred
- Computer literacy is required
- Excellent communication skills are essential
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attendance practices are required
