The Role
The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for all plant maintenance, reliability, and engineering activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all plant departments, including Operations, EHS, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain, to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Developing, managing, and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, improve production efficiency, and control maintenance costs.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, budgeting, and monitoring maintenance activities while ensuring the efficient utilization of labor, materials, and resources.
- Leads equipment reliability efforts through root cause analysis of equipment failures, development of corrective actions, and implementation of continuous improvement strategies.
- Utilizes Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and other reliability-centered methodologies to improve equipment performance, reduce waste, and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Prepares and manages departmental budgets, maintenance spending forecasts, capital expenditure plans, and related reports.
- Developing capital project justifications, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provides direct leadership and supervision to Maintenance Reliability Engineers, Automation and Controls Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, and Storeroom personnel.
- Supports employee development, performance management, succession planning, and workforce engagement while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable corporate policies and government regulations related to safety, environmental compliance, engineering standards, and maintenance practices.
- Actively supports the plant's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs by participating in safety audits, incident investigations, near-miss reviews, corrective action development, and hazard-reduction initiatives.
- Overseeing capital and infrastructure projects from concept through implementation, including development of technical specifications, vendor selection, equipment procurement, engineering analysis, project justification, resource coordination, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure projects are executed safely and effectively with minimal disruption to production operations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and lead initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and overall plant performance.
- Supports waste management, recycling, sustainability initiatives, and environmental stewardship efforts while ensuring compliance with all site requirements.
- Maintaining and reviewing Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other operational standards to promote employee safety and operational excellence.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of eight to ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive industrial experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively manage maintenance, engineering, and operational functions within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Possess the technical expertise and leadership capabilities necessary to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, reliability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable, as is familiarity with maintenance planning, inventory management, capital project tracking, and work order systems.
- A strong maintenance and reliability background is required, including practical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing systems and leading root cause analyses is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including building codes, OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices related to manufacturing operations.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, is required.
- Experience utilizing data analysis tools, statistical methods, Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement practices is strongly preferred.

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200 to $178,500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
