The position will provide support to the Granville location, within the defined World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, in a manner consistent with the Principles of Conduct and Action of Saint-Gobain.
Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment used within the Granville site for manufacturing its lines of high value PVC & Urethane foams. The position ensures rapid pace of implementation without compromising the quality of standards.
The role leads the design and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment for web processing using wet coating and lamination, web handling equipment and practices, extrusions and mixing technology. This support will include compliance with all ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 18001) within the Granville Site.
Responsibility for operational excellence via efficient plant design and function. Ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production utilizing lean and Six Sigma tools. Supports various engineering projects and resolves processing issues.
Will rely on experience and judgment to plan and support goals utilizing creativity as well as excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Leads structured problem solving independently across assigned issues to deliver sustainable corrective actions and prevent recurrence. Uses advanced analysis and project tools independently to model data, track actions, and communicate results effectively.
- Builds technical baselines independently across assigned processes to support root-cause work, prioritization, and validation of changes. Analyzes routine process trends independently to identify issues, drive decisions, and sustain process control.
- Leads cross-functional work independently across departments for assigned initiatives to align execution and resolve barriers. Communicates data-based technical recommendations across departments and/or with stakeholders to secure support, enable decisions, coordinated action, and define investment needs.
- Owns optimization opportunities independently to improve yield, throughput, labor efficiency, and conversion cost. Working with R&D, Production, Quality, and EHS personnel to manage raw material changes, process improvements, and Management of Change (MOC).
- Leads industrialization activities independently establish robust process conditions and launch readiness. Must be able to lead multiple projects independently to deliver technical scope, timing, and measurable operational results. Ensure timeframes and budget constraints are met while working in fast-paced environment.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Required- Bachelor degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
Preferred- Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
Preferred- Certified Lean Six-Sigma Belt and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- 4+ years experience in manufacturing environment- Required
- Proven record of leading successful projects- Communications and Team Building skills- Required
- 5+ years experience manufacturing in wet processing/web coating environment- Preferred
- Implementation of SPC systems- Preferred
- Working knowledge of the ISO methodology- Experience in an ISO environment- Preferred
- WCM experience- Knowledge of TQM techniques/Lean/Six Sigma & World Class Manufacturing methodology- Preferred
- Mentoring and development of entry level personnel- Preferred

Owns process standards independently within assigned areas to align documentation, recipe data, and actual manufacturing practice.
Develops and audits controlled systems independently to maintain compliance and procedural effectiveness.
Integrates safety and compliance requirements independently to ensure improvements remain controlled and auditable.
Supports trial plans and validation work with limited guidance to confirm process changes and product performance. Includes creation of trial plans, working with Planning to define machine availability, and communication across multiple departments.
Daily communications with manufacturing personnel to understand impact of new equipment, processes, and workflows used to produce PVC and PUR foams.Improves workflows and system usage when gaps exist.
Ability to implement Statistical Process Control systems, Continuous Improvement Plans, and Management of Change within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Analyzes routine process trends independently to identify issues, drive decisions, and sustain process control.
Mentors entry-level engineers and technicians independently to accelerate technical growth and standard work adoption.

Pay Transparency:

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $81,500 to $126,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $89,600 to $139,100. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
