The Role
The Quality Manager is responsible for development and maintenance of the Quality Management System. This includes both the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and product standards for the Solar Gard line of window film products as well as CoreTech Films products manufactured for the healthcare, aerospace, and electronics industries. Through the Quality Manager's guidance and leadership, the Quality Assurance team provides support so that the Company achieves and maintains industry leadership in the quality of its products. Also, this position has full responsibility for the quality department's budget and will be responsible for influencing site improvements through projects and CAPEX.
The position requires a high degree of general business acumen in quality. This position Leads and manages the Quality activities with strategic and tactical management of new and ongoing projects to improve overall quality efficiencies to meet our business and customer needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills for managing conflict resolution with both suppliers and customers. Experience in the healthcare/medical fields will be viewed as a strong benefit. Effective leadership will result in a highly trained and motivated workforce that works closely with R&D, Technology, and Operations to ensure capable manufacturing processes and consistent cost improvements.
People - Personnel coaching and creation of working processes to maximize the success of the team. Manage department personnel including hiring, promotions, recognition, and performance management. Plans, directs, and monitors the performance objectives of department personnel. Maintains effective organization and harmonious work relations; ensures that department personnel are properly qualified and trained and that departmental activities are performed in compliance with ISO systems and EHS policies.
Resource Deployment - Establishes budgets and meets cost objectives in the areas of materials and labor. Deploys assets to identify and resolve product quality issues both in manufacturing and post-sale, such as warranty claims and returns. Provides analytical data on quality issues and leads the organization to solve the most impact through improvement project identification, scoping and execution. Represents the company both internally and externally (with both customers and suppliers) when addressing quality concerns. Responsible for creating and negotiating supplier and customer specifications supported by manufacturing data.
Quality Systems - Develops and leads the efforts to maintain ISO 9001 certification. Ensures that the certification requirements are always met while streamlining the quality system for optimum efficiency. Provides leadership and training to the group in basic and advanced project and diagnostic tools such as PFMEA, SPC, DOEs, Cause and Effect charts/Paretos, and DMAIC techniques among others. Help drive continual process control and yield improvement activities for products while reducing warranty claims and customer complaints. Makes data driven decisions to focus efforts for maximum impact. Develops, directs and completes engineering projects, including implementation of all capital investments to achieve cost savings.
Planning - Capital Project planning, research, justification, execution and reporting utilizing the annual budget. As well as Departmental expenses management.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical discipline (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Polymer). Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years' experience Management and extensive experience managing ISO 9001 quality systems and Experience in Quality Assurance preferred in the wet processing and laminating industry
- 10+ years' experience Experience serving customers in highly regulated fields such as healthcare, automotive, aerospace
- 5+ years' experience Expertise in metrology and the design and use of inspection systems, especially in the films processing industry
- 5+ years' experience Web based processes (metalizing, coating & laminating, slitting) strongly preferred
- Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements, must have a strong commitment to safety practices & principles
- Familiarity with PPAP strongly preferred
- Experience with healthcare related QA procedures: IQ / OP / PQ strongly preferred
- Experience working with SAP
- Expertise with DMAIC and other six sigma tools
- Fluent with different root cause analysis techniques like 5why's, 8D, fishbone diagrams
- Experienced in analyzing and presenting data in graphical and other forms
Ability to draw conclusions and develop/present options from investigations and data analysis - Ability to develop and give presentations to various levels throughout the organization
- ISO 9001-2015 Lead Auditor Certification strongly preferred
- Lean / Sigma Certification strongly preferred
- Quality Management Certification strongly preferred

Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $115,260 - $178,540. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.
