What's the job?
The Quality Manager leads the plant's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs, executing robust quality systems, data driven process controls, and continuous improvement practices to ensure defect reduction, process stability, customer satisfaction, and sustained operational performance.
The Quality Manager is accountable for the effectiveness of the Hagerstown plant Quality Management System (QMS), including audits (internal and external), inspections, customer claims, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA). Through strategic and tactical leadership, this role drives the use of data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), preventive controls, and process capability improvement to reduce variation, validate processes, and ensure compliance with corporate and Saint-Gobain standards while supporting manufacturing operations and product performance.
  • Lead and develop a multi-shift Quality Control team; set expectations, standard work, training, and accountability.
  • Own and continuously improve the plant QMS, ensuring alignment with corporate direction and escalation of systemic risks. Partner with production to ensure quality product and reducing customer risk.
  • Manage all audits (internal, customer, supplier, regulatory, ISO/VSI/PEPA), including preparation, execution, and corrective actions.
  • Drive data-based decision making to reduce variation, improve capability, and prevent defects.
  • Establish and sustain preventive controls (control plans, inspections, process monitoring).
  • Implement and maintain SPC systems, including capability analysis, reaction plans, and operator training.
  • Lead process validation, capability improvement, and CTQ performance verification.
  • Maintain and improve FMEAs, control plans, and MSA to ensure process and measurement reliability.
  • Oversee inspection and testing of incoming, in-process, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
  • Manage supplier quality, including performance, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Lead customer complaint resolution and COPQ reduction initiatives.
  • Drive effective root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
  • Partner cross-functionally on KPIs, troubleshooting, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations or equivalent discipline is required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a part of a quality manufacturing organization
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience utilizing SPC data sets to create control charts, CPK adjustments, and improvement projects within manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience managing, growing and developing direct reports
  • Strong project management skills

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $102,00 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
 
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,226 to $178,540. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
