WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Production Supervisor is accountable for meeting the established Key Performance Indicators (KPI): Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (SQDC) through continuous improvement (CI) and fostering a TEC (trust, empowerment, collaboration) for the production team. Additionally, this position will serve as a Safety Champion for the plant, promoting an autonomous safety culture to keep employees/equipment hazard-free.

ACTIVITIES:

Tactical

  • Coordinate associate line responsibility to maximize utility of the production schedule
  • Ensure production reporting (output, run rates, yield, availability, downtime, etc.) is communicated to associates in a timely manner
  • Communicates metrics, issues, expectations, with other Production Supervisors, Leads, and other key stakeholders
  • Lead daily, weekly and or monthly production team meetings
  • Manage time keeping records, attendance reporting, disciplinary actions
  • Audit quality checks performed by line personnel
  • Data entry using local systems, e.g. SAP, MES - Trident, etc.

Safety

  • Actively model and coach a culture of Safety by continuously evaluating behaviors, practices, and conditions to ensure workplace safety is first and foremost
  • Accountable for fostering a safe work culture using safety tools including audits, investigations, job safety analysis, etc.
  • Prepare incident reports when required and conduct requisite employee follow up
  • Quickly addresses safety observations to prevent employee injury or property damage

Quality/Delivery/Continuous Improvement

  • Coaches associates to identify inefficiencies in processes while supporting or delivering corrective action plans
  • Coaches associates to identify opportunities to improve changeover process to maximize scheduled production run rates
  • Promotes good housekeeping practices following 5S methodology
  • Audits production compliance to ensure Recipes, Standard Operating Standards (SOP's), Production Reporting, etc. is followed as prescribed
  • Assists associates with tactical operations to help meet yield & availability goals as needed

Employee Relations

  • Coaches/mentors employees to encourage growth and development
  • Addresses employee issues adhering to policy/contract
  • Fosters open communication, encourages feedback to promote positive work environment and employee engagement
  • Participates in interviewing, hiring, onboarding activities for production associates

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required. Post high school education is preferred.
  • 3-5 years in manufacturing or 3 years of military experience is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability is required.
  • Experience in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) / Lean methodology is preferred.
  • Safety experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
