WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

What's the job?

Saint-Gobain is looking for a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) to join our CertainTeed Platforms R&D team. In this role, you will lead development and the launch of new products, systems, and assemblies to improve the sustainability, performance, and appeal of residential and commercial buildings.
The Principal R&D Structural Engineer is part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts in building physics, engineering, materials science, industrial design, and architecture dedicated to the development of new system-based solutions for the building industry.
This is accomplished through product and process research and development, specializing in new markets, advanced materials, and new construction techniques.
The position is Hybrid or Remote, depending on location, based at the Saint-Gobain Innovation Hub North America location in Northboro, MA. Some travel, including international, would be required to job sites, partners, factories, and to Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed locations.

· Proposing innovative technologies for the building industry.
· Developing and documenting product designs, construction details, and installation processes.
· Reviewing and preparing calculations, drawing sets, 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) models, and shop drawings to support the needs of a growing Offsite Solutions business, as well as other markets such as non-residential and resiliency.
· Interfacing with customers, consulting engineers, builders, developers, architects, and manufacturing partners for the design and production of products, systems, and assemblies.
· Supporting product management in identifying new opportunities and developing solutions to meet customer needs.
