Summary
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with plant, legislative, and company Health and Safety policies.
- Promote safety awareness, conduct inspections, and promptly resolve or report safety concerns.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant order fulfillment aligned with company standards and customer expectations.
- Coordinate employee scheduling, training, and daily warehouse operations.
- Maintain cross-functional communication (Roll-forming, Shipping, Slitting, Maintenance).
- Enforce company policies and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Lead daily shipping activities and ensure delivery and quality targets are met.
- Monitor packaging standards to minimize damage during transportation.
- Maintain yard and warehouse organization to protect inventory and optimize efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices.
- Audit compliance with transportation and safety regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and align performance with operational goals.
- Utilize SAP for shipment confirmations and documentation accuracy.
- Track KPIs, including labor hours, damages, and shipping performance.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and participation in employee discipline processes.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification with operating experience.
- Working knowledge of Canadian Transportation Regulations relevant to operations.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Experience with warehouse tools (measuring tape, cutting shears, strapping machine).
- Knowledge of equipment operation and safe handling practices.
- Understanding of Bailey’s products, configurations, weights, and stacking requirements.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
- Ability to enforce safety, quality, and operational policies with accountability.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure shipment accuracy.
- Ethical, observant, and open-minded with sound judgment.
- Adaptable, proactive team player capable of managing change and driving results.
Work Conditions
- Expected to work in a fast-paced and warehouse environment.
- Capable of working within a team environment.
- Perform tasks in environments with varying temperatures.
- Must be able to complete all assigned work correctly, to a high-quality standard and in a timely manner.
- Physically fit to lift products weighing up to 50 lbs.
