Partners in Progress

For more than 75 years, Saint-Gobain – and its predecessor Norton Company – has been a supporter of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts helping to serve four generations of families in central Massachusetts. Throughout its affiliation with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, Saint-Gobain has made substantial financial donations as well as land over the past 90 years. In fact, the Greendale facility is still located on land donated by Saint-Gobain. Saint-Gobain also supports The Gene DeFeudis YMCA Annual Golf Classic each year and is represented with a board of directors position. Because of this wonderful partnership, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts offers special memberships to Saint-Gobain employees and retirees, and hundreds of employees and their families take advantage of YMCA programs every year. At the YMCA of Central Massachusetts’ Greendale facility in Worcester, members exercise in the Center for Health & Wellness, dedicated to Saint-Gobain in appreciation of this historical partnership.

In 2014, Saint-Gobain celebrated the YMCA of Central Massachusetts' 150th Anniversary of the at a celebration gala held at Mechanics Hall in downtown Worcester, right where the very first YMCA opened in the city 150 years ago.
