Saint-Gobain North America and CertainTeed Win Three 2022 Manufacturing Leadership Awards from the National Association of Manufacturers

Saint-Gobain North America and its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC have received three 2022 Manufacturing Leadership Awards from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). The company was recognized for its achievements in digital network connectivity and circular economy, and one of the company’s research engineers has been recognized with a next-generation leadership award.

NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. The Manufacturing Leadership Awards honor manufacturing companies and individual manufacturing leaders that are shaping the future of global manufacturing through digital transformation.

“We are honored to be recognized by NAM with three Manufacturing Leadership Awards, and grateful to work alongside so many passionate colleagues who are on the cutting edge of new innovations in our industry,” said Regan Gallo, Vice President and General Manager, CertainTeed Architectural Product Group. “Our team will bravely and proudly continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in manufacturing – striving to maximize our company’s positive impact, for our customers and the communities where we operate, while working to reduce our environmental footprint.”

Digital Network Connectivity Award – CertainTeed FaCTory+ Program

CertainTeed has received NAM’s Digital Network Connectivity Award for its FaCTory+ Program, an initiative which greatly improves the ability of the business to connect, store, secure, automate and display critical plant-level data that is flowing throughout the shop floor. The program enables real-time, cost-saving decision making to improve operational efficiency as well as help move the company forward in its journey towards Industry 4.0.

Sustainability and the Circular Economy Award – CertainTeed Siding

The CertainTeed Siding team has received NAM’s Sustainability and the Circular Economy Award for its efforts over the past decade to increase the recycling of scrap materials generated at its manufacturing facilities. Today, 99.7% of all raw materials purchased by CertainTeed Siding are either put into the finished product or are recycled internally or externally. The business expects this number to increase to 99.9% by the end of this year.

Next-Generation Leadership Award – Daniel Shrives, Saint-Gobain Research North America

Daniel Shrives, a Saint-Gobain Research North America engineer based in Northborough, Massachusetts, has received NAM’s Next-Generation Leadership Award for his work leading several transformative Industry 4.0 projects that drive improvements in safety, sustainability and efficiency. Daniel’s projects have included scoping, designing, manufacturing and assembling electromechanical and robotic systems for the company’s research and development efforts.
