WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The Master Scheduler is responsible for the scheduling and planning of the work orders for manufacturing operations and raw material planning. They are accountable for the development, maintenance, and execution of the master production schedule. The incumbent works closely with plant supervision, procurement, suppliers, and team members to monitor material, equipment, machine, and personnel resources to protect service levels and production continuity.
This role assists in the manufacturing, implementation, efficiency, and effectiveness of new and existing products. They ensure production demands are met while maintaining a safe workplace for employees. The Master Scheduler is responsible for leading the coordination of varied multiple activities to ensure the production of high performance products with the quality, delivery, and cost to meet customer's requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, track and continuously improve master production schedules for all manufacturing departments. Analyze, determine usage, and release materials to meet production schedules, customer deadlines, and inventory goals.
· Coordinate, expedite, schedule changes, and expedite jobs as required and interface with customer service and production to ensure on time delivery of all orders
· Maintain raw material, WIP, and Finished Goods inventories to be appropriately responsive to Sales and Work Orders within turn objectives and dollar levels.
· Generate and issue work orders by work center
· Support forecasting activity by participating in forecast review meetings and provide feedback to supervisor as required.
· Scheduling and coordinating WIP to outside vendors for further processing.
· Lead or perform cycle counts as per policy
· Oversee the creation and maintenance of purchase orders in ERP systems in accordance with established procedures
· Oversee the communication with suppliers regarding order status and assist with ensuring on time delivery.
· Develop metrics to track production adherance and compliance plan.
· Planning and coordination of daily production and acknowledgement of customer orders.
· Responsible for warehousing and materials planning.
· Develop new tools or implementation of new software to improve planning tools, maximize production performance, increase output and reduce set-up changes.
· Mentor all Planners, including creating standard work and monitoring effectiveness
· Recommend and facilitate WCM activities to create better planning work flow and increased efficiencies.
· Grow capabilities within the planning team.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or other related field - required
Experience:
3 plus years manufacturing planning experience, required
1-3 years supervisory experience, preferred
Thorough knowledge of ERP systems (QAD), master scheduling, production planning and MRP, required
Strong analytical aptitude and problem solving skills, required
